Major Programs

  • The Department of Computer Science at Tufts University provides an open, friendly, diverse, and collaborative atmosphere in which to study computer science. Students personalize their path of study through interdisciplinary learning, research collaboration and access to professors both in small classes and out of class.

  • The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering prepares students for professional practice, advanced research, active citizenship, and lifelong learning. Students learn the principles of electrical and computer engineering, master engineering methods to solve challenging problems, and develop the leadership skills necessary to relate these solutions to communities.

  • The Department of Mathematics prepares undergraduate and graduate students to ask and answer mathematical-based questions about insights and methods in a broad variety of mathematical areas. Students also gain an understanding of the role of hypotheses, conclusions, counter examples and other forms of mathematical evidence in the development and formulation of mathematical ideas.

  • Mechanical engineering is a rich and versatile profession that combines invention, analysis, and the manufacture of mechanical components and systems. This sector of engineering spans well-established industries such as automotive, aerospace, shipping, power, heating and cooling, and machinery, as well as the new and emerging fields of robotics, micro- and nano-devices, and medical devices.
